HUMP DAY: SOME LIGHT ON BLACK FRIDAY

Every year, the “Black Friday Creep,” as it’s been called, has allowed shoppers to arrive earlier and earlier at shopping outlets, malls, and department stores. Every year, thousands of workers are expected to leave their homes and families on Thanksgiving in an attempt to satisfy customers looking to shop for the holidays.

As resentment grows, more and more people are getting fed up with the Thanksgiving intruders, and increasingly a backlash has become apparent. Still, stores like Walmart, Macy’s, and Target continue to open their doors earlier and earlier (6:00 p.m. on Thursday this year).

But, all is not lost in consumerism and such as many stores have joined this anti-Black Thursday movement and are being applauded for it! Some of the companies joining include Game Stop, Costco, JCPenney, and Barnes & Noble.
