PEER EDUCATOR RECRUITMENT!

Amanda is a first semester peer educator with the Lifestyles Center. She is currently a sophomore here at SUNY Oswego and studying Wellness Management with minors in Nutrition and Spanish. Amanda’s favorite thing about the Lifestyles Center is the welcoming environment. She loves how all of her fellow peer educators and the Lifestyles staff is always there for each other and just create a welcoming and fun place to be. Amanda became a peer educator because she wanted to learn how to better educate people on how to live a healthy lifestyle. Amanda’s favorite hobby is cooking delicious vegan food. If Amanda found $100 and had to spend it right now she would buy concert tickets to her favorite band, The 1975.

Bianca is a second semester peer educator with the Lifestyles Center. She is a first semester junior majoring in Biology with both Chemistry and Business minors. Bianca’s favorite thing about the Lifestyles Center is that she gets to be a part of a team. She loves that she is able to promote living a healthy lifestyle by educating other students through programs like Toilet Talk, Outreach and the Lifestyles Center website. She feels as though she has become a part of a family that she knows will always support one another. Bianca became a peer educator because she wanted to be able to help others while also improving herself. She says that even in just one semester she has seen these improvements and learned valuable lessons. The leadership opportunity allows her and her fellow peer eds to make a beneficial difference on campus! Bianca’s favorite hobby is cooking and baking; she actually had her own little French macaron business in high school! If Bianca could only eat one food for the rest of her life it would be black bean brownies.

Brenaisha is a Junior here at SUNY Oswego and is studying Wellness Management with a Health Science minor. She is a first semester peer educator and decided to become a peer educator because she had had a friend who went through the program and she wanted to learn more about it. Brenaisha’s favorite thing about the Lifestyles Center is the communication involved. She has made outside friendships through this opportunity. Brenaisha’s favorite hobby is listening to music and if she could travel to just one place in the world it would be “the motherland,” Africa!
