What percent of SUNY Oswego students, faculty, and staff smoke?
-Although you may notice a lot of smokers on campus the fact is that most people do not smoke. Campus wide surveys suggest that only 16% of students report using tobacco in the last 30 days and only 7.1% of faculty and staff use tobacco on a daily basis.

Why is SUNY Oswego going tobacco free?
-It is important to encourage positive health for all of our students, faculty, and staff. The detailed rationale can be found here.

When is the SUNY Oswego campus going tobacco free?
-The proposed date for SUNY Oswego to be tobacco free is January 1st, 2014.

Are there places on campus that I can use tobacco?
-Currently tobacco use is permitted outside 20 feet from a building entrance or ventilation system. Once we go tobacco free on January 1st, 2014 there will be no tobacco use on the entire campus.

Can I smoke in my car?
-As long as your car is on campus you may not smoke in it.
