It’s starting to get warm again! Time to start getting out of that dorm room to enjoy the nice weather this spring. Here are just a few events you can look into this weekend.

Women’s Softball

Friday, March 31st: Women’s Softball vs. Buffalo State

Time: 3-5pm

Location: Laker Softball Field

Saturday, April 1st: Women’s Softball vs. Fredonia

Time: 12-2pm

Location: Laker Softball Field

Men’s Lacrosse

Saturday, April 1st: Men’s Lacrosse vs. Plattsburgh

Time: 1-2:30pm

Location: Laker Turf Stadium

Obviously one of the best ways to enjoy the warm sunny weather is by going out and supporting your Oswego Lakers! Whether it’s the women’s softball team or the men’s lacrosse team, here is your opportunity to give your school some spirit! Both teams are Division III, as well as the teams they’re playing. Buses (on campus) are available for transportation. Also, all three events this weekend are completely free.

Here is a link to the map for the “Laker Softball Field”: map. It is right behind Rich Hall! So if you live by the lake, it is a quick walk! WTOP-10 & WYNO 88.9 will be covering the men’s lacrosse game as well. So if you’re too lazy to leave your room, feel free to watch game online, watch the live audio or stats! It is definitely something worth checking out.

Another event this weekend is a Planetarium Show including some outdoor telescope viewing! Here are the details:

Planetarium Show

Sunday, April 2nd: “The Eclipse is Coming!”

Time: 7-8pm

Location: Room 223, Shineman Center

A total solar eclipse is coming up on August 21st, 2017. This means that the moon will be completing blocking out the sun. You will have the opportunity to learn all about the eclipse and the best places to be when this event happens! Campgrounds and state parks may be completely reserved weeks ahead of the event. So be the first one to get the lowdown on where you should be! Don’t miss out.

This event is completely free including parking in both the Centennial Drive lot & Washington Boulevard lot. There are limited seats so please make sure you get there early enough to grab a spot. You will also have the chance to look through a telescope which is something neat to do after a warm sunny day here in Oswego.
